Tenant Rights & Rental Guide

A written rental agreement is your primary legal protection as a tenant in Poland.

Know the essential clauses every rental contract should contain to protect your rights.

Before signing or paying anything, confirm the landlord actually owns the apartment.

Paying any money before a signed contract leaves you with no legal recourse if something goes wrong.

A thorough inspection before signing protects you from being blamed for pre-existing damage.

Visual documentation at move-in is your strongest evidence in any deposit dispute.

The handover protocol is a signed document listing the apartment's condition at move-in and move-out — it is essential for deposit protection.
